Who can receive free cleanings through Cleaning for a Reason?
This program is for anyone currently undergoing cancer treatment (women, men, or children) who lives in our service area. All patients must apply and be approved through the nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason. Once Cleaning for a Reason sends us your information, our team will contact you to schedule your free home cleanings.
What areas do you service for free cancer cleanings?
Through Cleaning for a Reason, Raccoon Cleaning Services helps families across the northwest and western suburbs of Chicago. Our service area includes communities such as Bensenville, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Naperville, Evanston, Bolingbrook, Aurora, and many nearby suburbs. If you are not sure whether your home is in our service area, you can still apply and we will confirm based on your address.
How many cleanings are provided and how often?
For each approved patient, we donate cleaning services to the household once a month for two consecutive months (a total of two free visits). Scheduling is coordinated between our office and your family to find days and times that work best, depending on our availability.
What is included in a Cleaning for a Reason visit?
Each visit is a professional standard house cleaning focused on the most used areas of the home. Our team typically dusts and wipes surfaces, cleans bathrooms, kitchen counters and appliances exteriors, vacuums and mops floors, and tidies main living areas and bedrooms. If you need anything special because of medical equipment or mobility issues, please tell us in advance so we can plan for it.
Do I have to pay anything or sign up for regular service?
No. The two donated cleanings are provided at no cost to you as part of our partnership with Cleaning for a Reason. You are never required to book additional paid services. If you decide later that you’d like ongoing cleanings or extra services (such as deep cleaning or carpet & upholstery cleaning), we can discuss our regular pricing separately, but that is completely optional.
Who can apply for a patient?
Applications are handled directly through Cleaning for a Reason. A patient can apply for themselves, or an application can be submitted on their behalf by a caregiver, nurse, doctor, social worker, friend, or family member. The only rule is that the patient must agree to receive the service and be willing to have a cleaning company come into their home.
Can I donate to support Cleaning for a Reason?
Yes. Cleaning for a Reason is a nonprofit organization and they depend on donations to provide free home cleaning for cancer patients. If you would like to help more families receive cleanings, you can make a secure online donation directly on their website at cleaningforareason.org under the Donate section. Every contribution, large or small, helps fund additional free cleanings for patients in need.
