First an organic pre-spray goes on – it loosens the dirt sitting in the pile so it lets go instead of smearing. Then an enzyme treatment breaks down what the pre-spray cannot: organic spots, pet accidents, the source of smells. Enzymes need a little time to work, so we give them that time instead of rushing to the next step. Hot water extraction follows – hot water pushed deep into the carpet and pulled straight back out with the dirt in it. Nothing soaks, nothing is left behind to attract new dirt faster. At the end we vacuum twice, so the pile stands up and dries evenly instead of drying matted down. Smell does not live on the surface. It lives down in the backing and the pad, which is why an air freshener changes nothing – it covers the top while the source stays below. What works is enzyme treatment at the source plus extraction that pulls the residue out. If the pad is soaked through from repeated accidents, we will tell you – sometimes the pad has to be replaced, and no cleaning changes that.
The gray path from the door to the couch is ground-in grit, not just dirt on top. Shoes press it into the pile and every step grinds it deeper, and that is also what wears carpet out early. Extraction lifts most of it and the lane gets visibly lighter. If the fibers themselves are already abraded, the path stays a shade darker – clean, but worn. We say which one it is before we start.
Some carpets are done. If the pile is crushed flat along the walking lines, or the backing is damaged, cleaning makes it cleaner but not new. We will tell you when we look at it. It is cheaper to hear that before than after.
The pre-spray is organic and the process ends with extraction – the products leave with the water. Let the carpet dry, then the room is back in service. If someone in the house has allergies, tell us and we plan around it.
